Assembly Halls, old pagodas, temples ...  all have created a exceptional and living architectural and cultural assemblage. All the houses were made of wood and were decorated with horizontal lacquered boards and vertical parallel panels engraved

with Chinese characters. Pillars were engraved with ornamental designs.
